AloeRoot’s philosophy:
if there’s something you’re passionate about doing, we want to help you succeed.

If you love to do something, we want to help you do it well – this depends in large part upon you connecting with people who are interested in the fruits of your labors.

A good website is key. AloeRoot knows you’d rather be doing your thing, whatever it may be, than navigating the labyrinthine passages and steep learning curves of the Internet looking for ways to market your business (that’s OUR thing – what a nice coincidence).

If you know you need a website, if you have an older one that needs work, if people aren’t finding you online, or if you just need someone to suggest a starting point, please get in touch.

Wealth Flows

Every time we complete a project for a new customer AloeRoot lends some of the profits, through Kiva.org, to entrepreneurs who are considered “working poor” so we can all experience the joy of making a living doing what we love.

Act Locally

AloeRoot is pleased to offer discounted rates to humanitarian groups and businesses operating in the North Bay area, and to underfunded arts organizations.

Employment Philosophy

AloeRoot’s contractors are offered a decent living wage and are encouraged to set their own working hours while respecting the deadlines of our customers.

Environmental Philosophy

We’re big believers in following our passion in an environmentally friendly way. Here are a few of the ways AloeRoot limits the impact of our operation:

  • AloeRoot’s owner maintains an office in a small, energy-efficient house in a central residential area. Not only does working from home promote a more relaxed and efficient working environment, it removes the need to commute to an office and the energy demands of maintaining a separate business location.
  • In fact, we drive only when necessary – which for business purposes is about once a week.
  • Meetings with customers are held in a space shared by several other local small businesses, or at our favourite local coffee shop, supporting other area entrepreneurs.
  • AloeRoot maintains extensive gardens (using no lawn chemicals and no gas-powered mowers, as there is no lawn) and takes pride in feeding a variety of local bird species.
  • We compost all of our organic waste and recycle nearly everything else.
  • AloeRoot keeps minimal paper records and our office supply consumption is nearly nil. Customer data is stored securely and digitally, and each customer’s file contains only as many sheets of paper as are strictly necessary for essential recordkeeping.

Local Organizations:

AloeRoot Web Services is a member of the North Bay and District Chamber of Commerce.

AloeRoot’s Founder:

AloeRoot was co-founded by J.P. Racine (1973-2008) on the principles of quality service and environmental sustainability.

Jean Paul’s Taoist training and genius for learning arcane technological systems gave shape to AloeRoot’s philosophy: if you go with the flow and love what you do, you can produce great work.
