Internet Explorer 9 and WordPress

If you operate a WordPress-based website and you’ve recently upgraded to Internet Explorer 9 (known as “Internet Exploder” by the staff at my favourite ISP), you might begin experiencing some problems writing or editing pages and posts. This is not a WordPress bug; it appears to be an issue with Internet Explorer 9.

The key to solving this is to run Internet Explorer in “compatibility mode” while it’s on your website. You can do this by logging into your WordPress admin area, pressing the Alt key on your keyboard and choosing Tools -> Compatibility View from the menu that appears.

I’d like to respectfully suggest that you try Mozilla Firefox instead, though, as it’s proven to be a much better browser – or Firefox’s competitor, Google Chrome.

If you’re an author attempting to self-publish your work, digital formats and e-readers are not to be overlooked. But where to start?

Amazon’s device, known as the Kindle, is the current market leader. Barnes and Noble offers the Nook. Chapters/Coles sells the Kobo and there is, naturally, the iPad and iPod platform to consider.

Gizmodo offers this very helpful article that clarifies your options and recommends a service that can streamline the publishing and marketing process.

Congratulations on your new site, Blue Sky Personal Support Workers!
